VIEW TUBE: Philip Fortenberry performs at the Liberace Museum

Philip Fortenberry premiered his ongoing cabaret-style show “Liberace and Me” in the Liberace Museum’s showroom last month. Throughout the 45-minute performance, Fortenberry weaves the music around his own life story and journey as a pianist from rural Mississippi to Broadway.

“I used Liberace as a guide to learn the fun of music,” said Fortenberry, the assistant conductor for “Jersey Boys” at The Palazzo. “He wasn’t just a showman or an entertainer. He was a star, and he gave me a star to shoot for.”

“Liberace and Me” is at 1 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday in the Liberace Museum’s showroom, 1775 E. Tropicana Ave. Admission is $17.50. For more information, call 798-5595.
