Here he is at the beginning of his political career. Now, he’s one of the most powerful politicians in the world — leader of the United States Senate.
Just to be fair, get a load of your favorite newspaper publisher in this photo. Taken just after leaving Las Vegas in 1980 to become the editor of the Hawaii Tribune-Herald in Hilo. Note the cup of coffee in my hand. Some things don’t change.
