Whoops! A Baltimore ballgirl fields fair ball

The Toronto Blue Jays got a little extra help from a Baltimore Orioles ballgirl on Sunday when she fielded a fair ball.

The line drive grounder from Toronto’s Edwin Encarnacion in the top of the 4th had been ruled fair by the umpire, but the ballgirl went after it thinking it was a foul.

Whoops!

She even did a little celebratory jump before running back to the her post and realizing the mistake she had made.

The umpire called it as a ground rule double, advancing Encarnacion to second base and the Toronto player on second base to third base.

In other ballgirl news.

A San Francisco Giants ball girl fielded a tricky-hopping grounder Friday night, and her reaction to making the play was classic.
