Will Milanowski sentence flap impact USA Capital case?

Former USA Capital president Joe Milanowski has to be sweating today after learning Friday that U.S. District Judge Roger Hunt was likely to reject the plea deal he’d carved out with the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Milanowski is a central figure in the fraud investigation of USA Capital. The company’s officials are suspected of defrauding hundreds of millions of dollars from investors in first-trust mortgage deeds.

Milanowski’s agreement called for a sentence of from 8 to 12 years. He could receive 20 years if the plea agreement fails.

The question followers of the case are asking: Will the Milanowski sentencing have any negative impact on the investigation of former USA Capital boss Tom Hantges?

And where is Hantges these days, anyway?

No longer having coffee with USA Capital investor and Gambino crime family figure Sal Reale, from what I hear.
