Woman arrested after police say she bit her husband’s ear off over beer

A 37-year-old Minnesota woman was arrested after police say she bit her husband's ear off during an argument over beer, SC Times reported.

According to a criminal complaint, St. Cloud, Minn., officers were called to a domestic assault at the home Jamie Elrod shares with her husband. When they arrived and met with the couple, officers noted that the man was missing part of his right ear.

Elrod's husband told officers that the couple had gotten into an argument over beer. The victim said Elrod was yelling at him over a beer when she followed him into the bedroom and reportedly "went off on him."

During a search of the apartment, officers found blood and part of the man's ear on the floor. When asked what happened to the victim's ear, she said she did not know. 

After reviewing phone calls Elrod made in jail, it was later found that she had admitted to biting the victim's ear off.

Elrod is facing a first-degree assault charge and is being held on $30,000 bond.
