Woman buys first new car at Planet Hyundai Sahara

Longtime Las Vegan Ashley Gest recently purchased her first new vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Accent Sport Edition, from Planet Hyundai Sahara at 7150 W. Sahara Ave.

"I had heard from others that the dealership had great customer service and good deals for first-time buyers," said Gest, a receptionist in The Salon at the Bellagio on the Strip. "Also key was the fact that I wanted something that got me good gas mileage."

It's not hard getting praises about the Accent from Gest, a Durango High School graduate.

"I like the fact that the Accent has Bluetooth and I don't have to worry about getting a ticket for talking on my cellphone," she said. "I cruise around Vegas a lot and also like driving to California."

Gest used to take cabs to and from work.

"I feel like I have died and gone to heaven now that I have my Accent," she said with a laugh. "I no longer have to worry about someone else taking me to and from my place of employment. Then, too, it was costing me $20 a day just in cab fare. I actually feel like a new person with my car. I'm happier, I'm more driven and I feel better about myself."

She said she appreciates the Accent's gas mileage, which can be as much as 37 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg in town.

Gest also praised her sales consultant Josh Fisher.

"The Accent wasn't my first choice because I wanted a bigger car, but the Accent was perfect for me. I was hooked on another model; however, I needed guidance and Josh provided that to me when he showed me the benefits of the Accent," she said. "There was no pressure and he was very patient, and I greatly appreciated that. I was scared when I walked on the lot and Josh made me feel at ease. I felt like I was dealing with a friend and that gave me a good feeling of hope."

Gest said Fisher was persistent when it came to getting her the right financing.

Gest's car came with fog lights, alloy wheels, audio streaming, interior and exterior protection, SiriusXM radio and an Active Eco system that saves an estimated 7 percent on fuel mileage.

The Hyundai comes with a 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty, along with a five-year, 60,000-mile new-car warranty.
