Woman cited for mailing cow poop to her neighbors
BURLINGTON, Iowa — A southeast Iowa woman has been cited on third-degree harassment after authorities say she mailed cow poop to her neighbors over a dispute about her barking dog.
Burlington police say 51-year-old Kimberly Capdevila sent the smelly package to her neighbors, Steve Rowland and Mary Eipert, on Dec. 13.
Rowland says he immediately suspected his neighbor because of ongoing problems over Capdevila’s barking dog, a Great Pyrenees. The couple contacted police.
Capdevila says she sent the package through a joke website that guaranteed anonymity. She says it was a “practical joke” and she never intended to harass the couple.
The Hawk Eye reports Capdevila was given a misdemeanor ticket Monday. She is scheduled to appear in associate district court on Jan. 6.
