Ride-sharing app Uber is facing a $2 million dollar lawsuit brought on by a Virginia woman who says a driver sexually assaulted her 13-year-old daughter on up to 20 different occasions.
The teen used Uber to catch a ride to and from her middle school and most times, the driver who arrived was Isagani Marin, 39, according to the criminal complaint.
The mother alleges Marin asked her daughter inappropriate questions and on Nov. 7, 2014, as she was exiting the car, he grabbed her inner thigh and asked if her mother was home. On April 27, Marin was found guilty of criminal assault and sexual battery and was give a six-month sentence, The Daily Beast reported.
The complaint states that the girl suffered emotional distress as a result and Uber was to blame because they should have known about his alleged history.
