World’s tallest roller coaster will be 55 stories tall

Watch out, thrill-seekers! The world’s tallest roller coaster is scheduled to open in Orlando in 2016. The ride was designed to wrap around a 570-foot tall tower called the Skyplex.

According to gizmodo.com, “The Polercoaster—as it will be known—is part of a larger 495,000 square foot complex that will include restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. But the star will certainly be the coaster, which hits a top speed of 65 miles per hour and gives thrill-seekers a three minute ride along its 5,200 feet of track.”

The design of the complex and coaster is reminiscent to the Stratosphere’s former Let It Ride High Roller, but instead of sending screaming riders through peaks and valleys atop the building, Floridians can expect to climb and descend the entirety of the structure, with a perfect vantage point of the city.
