YOU WEEKEND: Celebrate Nevada Reading Week at Springs Preserve

Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View Blvd., will celebrate Nevada Reading Week March 7 with festivities for the entire family.

Channel 8 weather anchor Sherry Swensk will read to kids starting at 10:15 a.m. Following at 10:45 a.m., there will be an interactive scavenger hunt through the Springs Preserve’s Sustainability Gallery, led by the Springs Preserve’s Youth Education Team.

The scavenger hunt will use lessons learned during the morning’s reading. The winning hunters will receive prizes from the Springs Preserve gift shop. Free and open to the public. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Students and families are invited to visit the trails or gardens at no charge for the remainder of the day.
