YOUR WEEKEND: Eat barbecue, support SAFE House

There's only one weekend until kids go back to school in the valley, and soon after, we will be celebrating Labor Day, the official end of barbecue season.

So take advantage of the Henderson Storage Kings' fundraising barbecue from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Aug. 23 at its new store at 318 N. Boulder Highway. The free barbecue will include food, a magician for the children and balloon animals. Although there is no charge for any of the events, donations will be accepted for the nonprofit domestic violence shelter SAFE House.
