Trailer for “String of Neon,” a documentary detailing the plight of the iconic neon guitar marquee from the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas. The neon guitar is now on display at the The Neon Museum.
The two-week-long demolition of the cafe, which began Monday afternoon, is one of the first steps of the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel’s transformation to Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. The resort-casino will close its doors Feb. 3 for renovations, and is set to reopen in the fall of 2020.

The iconic Hard Rock Café neon sign at the corner of Harmon and Paradise is coming down. The cafe opened in September 1990 and closed December 31, 2016.
