A man in his 30s was killed by a stray bullet last night while he was putting out food for stray cats. It happened in a neighborhood north of the Strip.

Police have captured a bull that was roaming through streets in central Las Vegas for several hours this morning. Police are still searching for the owner.

It wasn’t a typical chase Wednesday morning involving Las Vegas police. Las Vegas Animal Control as well as a sergeant from the Henderson Police Department joined forces to capture a bull on the loose in central Las Vegas. The bull’s freedom lasted about four hours after being spotted around 3 .a.m. at Turquoise Road and Silver Lake Drive. The bull finally was corralled on Ophir Drive. Metro tracked the bull with a helicopter and patrol units blocked traffic while the bull was tranquilized and finally coaxed into a trailer about 7 a.m. This was not the first time a bull had gotten loose inside city limits. On April 16, 2017, a bull bolted for freedom from his northwest valley corral near Texas Station and was captured while running southbound on Michael Way.

Las Vegas Police and the Clark County Fire Department are investigating a suspected arson at 4330 W. Desert Inn Road.
A fire broke out around 3 a.m. Wednesday. Metropolitan police later arrived at the scene and taped off the area. Clark County fire investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. Check back at lvrj.com for more details.
