Las Vegas police and animal control captured a bull Wednesday morning after it roamed through central Las Vegas for several hours.
Las Vegas Police and the Clark County Fire Department are investigating a suspected arson at 4330 W. Desert Inn Road.
A fire broke out around 3 a.m. Wednesday. Metropolitan police later arrived at the scene and taped off the area. Clark County fire investigators believe the fire was intentionally set. Check back at lvrj.com for more details.
Pot cafes, stoned yoga and painting while puffing could be just around the corner in Las Vegas. Las Vegas officials are considering an ordinance that would allow the city to license marijuana consumption lounges. The ordinance would allow for a variety of consumption-friendly businesses, such as restaurants, yoga studios, coffee shops and even a smoking while painting class. The lounges would not be allowed to have or serve any alcohol or to store marijuana on-site. Assistant City Attorney Bryan Scott said lounges could be approved in March.
Las Vegas’ new soccer team introduced its head coach Tuesday. José Luis Sánchez Solá, better known as “Chelís”, will put together the Las Vegas Lights FC for 2018. Owner Brett Lashbook said Chelís fit with the attacking style of play he wants the team to be. Chelís previously coached Puebla in Liga MX and was the coach of Major League Soccer team Chivas USA. Chelís is currently an analyst with the ESPN Deporters’ daily soccer show Futbol Picante.

Volunteers presented a 2-mile-long lei at the Las Vegas sign, Mandalay Bay and Downtown’s Healing Garden on Oct. 14. The lei was made in Hawaii and shipped to Las Vegas and was organized by Maui restaurant-owner Ron Panzo. Students at Foothill High School were welcomed back to school with a colorful and energetic experience from the school’s drum line members, dance team and cheerleaders.
1. A 15-year-old girl called police Sunday night and told them her stepfather shot her mother and then himself. Police responded to the call shortly after 8:30 p.m. to the scene where the man shot his wife multiple times before shooting himself. The couple had no prior domestic violence reports. Police say the teen is with police and safe.
2. A University of Nevada Reno student that participated in a white nationalist rally Friday has denounced violence that erupted over the weekend. Peter Cvjetanovic said he attended the rally to “honor the heritage of white culture” and does not advocate for violence. Over 100 people attended a rally in North Las Vegas Sunday night to honor a woman who died and many others injured in the Charlottesville protest.
3. The Maloof brothers, who own a minority stake in the Vegas Golden Knights, placed a monster bet on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight late last week. Gavin Maloof confirmed the $880,000 bet for Mayweather over the weekend and said Mayweather is a good friend. If Mayweather wins, the Maloofs will win $160,000 and say the money will be donated to charity.

Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant talked about what it’ll take to lead the first NHL team in Las Vegas. This will be his second time coaching an expansion team since he was with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
1. Part of Las Vegas Boulevard was shut down overnight after a fire on the roof of the Bellagio Hotel. The roof of a few shops near the famed fountain caught fire but burned for under half an hour. Nobody was injured and no hotel rooms were affected. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
2. Wal-Mart will be investing millions of dollars into 3 Las Vegas Valley properties. Wal-Mart on Serene near Eastern will be remodeled, along with Sam’s Club on Arroyo Crossing Parkway near Rainbow and Sam’s Club on Craig Road near Losee Road. The update and remodels are a part of a wave of renovations by the company.
3. A brothel owner has plans for a Raiders-themed property near Las Vegas. Dennis Hof’s seventh brothel has the planned name of Pirate’s Booty Sports Brothel and says the location could be “the official prostitution provider to one of the NFL’s most storied franchises.”
Two years after luring a teenager into prostitution, a Las Vegas pimp was convicted Monday on 15 felony counts in connection with brutally torturing her for months.
