Indy 500 changes networks

After a 54-year run on ABC, the Indianapolis 500 is switching networks. Starting in 2019, the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” will be shown on NBC. Indoor Las Vegas dog park offers shelter from heat

Pet owners rejoice! A new indoor dog park in Las Vegas offers shelter from the hot sun. Adventure Dog Park opened March 1st, and is located across the street from Sunset Park. The facility offers a play area for small dogs, and a separate one for bigger dogs. At outdoor parks, owners have to worry about the possibilities of contracting the dog flu. But before guests can enter this indoor dog park, all vaccines must be up to date. The park offers a monthly membership or day pass that allows owners to come and go anytime during business hours. Adventure Dog Park is open 7 days a week, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Las Vegas approves urban chicken-keeping

Las Vegans may now keep up to 10 chickens in the yard of a single family home as long as their neighbors approve. Residents can keep hens for their eggs, but cannot breed the animals for sale or slaughter. Chickens are required to be kept in a fenced-in area with a run, and coops can’t be located any closer than 20 feet from their neighbors’ homes. Each adjacent property owner to the land where the chickens will be kept must provide their written consent. Some residents approached Councilman Bob Coffin about keeping chickens, and he sponsored the ordinance by request.
