On Tuesday, the Las Vegas Review-Journal was given an updated tour of Allegiant Stadium. Seen on the tour, on the northeastern corner of the roof, was a tiny section of what eventually will be a 7-acre translucent plastic polymer roof.
As Allegiant Stadium readies to become home to the Raiders, it’s no doubt that the 65,000-seat arena will be a centerpiece to the city of Las Vegas. Hundreds of people marched through downtown Las Vegas on Saturday as part of the Empowering Women March 2020.
The event coincided with the annual women’s marches that began in 2017 as a protest of President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Many marchers wore pink hats or shirts, chanted and carried signs as the group snaked from Fremont Street up Ninth Street, then along East Ogden Avenue and finally down Las Vegas Boulevard to the Lloyd D. George Courthouse, where they rallied for about 90 minutes.

The $2 billion Allegiant Stadium remains on time and on budget, even though completion of the cable net to support the translucent polymer roof won’t be completed until mid-December.
The reason: Other projects within the 65,000-seat stadium were completed well ahead of their projected completion dates.
