A second pedestrian was killed overnight after suffering injuries when hit by a vehicle on a central Las Vegas Valley street. Las Vegas police said a pedestrian was trying to cross Flamingo Road at Maryland Parkway when a vehicle struck that person. The injured person was taken to a hospital where they died. Earlier overnight, a pedestrian was killed in Henderson trying to cross St. Rose Parkway at Bermuda.

1. Calvary Chapel Christian School has hired former disgraced Baylor coach Dave Bliss as an athletic director and boys basketball coach. Bliss was at the center of a murder scandal in 2003 when one Baylor basketball player killed another. Teachers and coaches at Calvary Chapel say they are comfortable with Bliss working there despite his past controversies.
2. A pedestrian was hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver Wednesday night, according to police. The crash happened at the intersection of Lake Mead and Martin Luther King boulevards at around 9:40 p.m. when a black Nissan sedan traveling westbound hit the pedestrian crossing northbound. The pedestrian died at the scene.
3. NASA has a new job opening: planetary protection officer. It pays up to $187,000 a year and responsibilities include safeguarding Earth from alien life. The position is independent and is a three- to five-year appointment.
1. Two people are dead and another was shot in the head after an argument broke out over a game of dominoes at a northeast Las Vegas home Sunday night. After an argument began, a man went to his car to retrieve a gun and opened fire inside the home on the 4400 block of Wendy Street near East Craig and North Walnut roads. Two men in their 20s were killed and a third man in his 30s was shot in the head and is now stabilized. Police are still looking for the suspect.
2. A Las Vegas woman died from choking injuries Friday morning, according to the Clark County Coroner. On June 3, police were called to a break-in at a home on the 1900 block of Sirocco Court when an arriving officer said he found Stella Martinez on the ground being choked by her ex-boyfriend Christopher Wood. Police attempted to revive Martinez but she later died. Wood faces attempted murder, attempted burglary and domestic battery by strangulation charges.
3. A pedestrian has died after being struck by an SUV early Monday morning. Police responded to a call about the accident on Tropicana near Wilbur Street and Maryland Parkway around 2:30 a.m. Monday. The pedestrian later died at an area hospital.
