For a 6th straight month, McCarran International Airport logged more than 4 million airline passengers. The numbers are from August, the Clark County Aviation Department reported. More than 4.24 million airline passengers arrived or departed from the nation’s 8th-busiest airport last month. That’s a 3.6 percent jump from the same period in 2016, a spokeswoman said. County aviation director Rosemary Vassiliadis has said she believes McCarran will set a record this year. The current record of 47.8 million airline passengers was set in 2007.

Clark County commissioners can either appoint a replacement or hold a special election to fill the judge’s seat. Clark County Commissioner Larry Brown wants to swiftly appoint a replacement. But only if the appointee won’t run for election in 2018.

It is huge — spanning 5.4 million square feet. It hosts two industry gatherings per year that typically last a week and draw 45,000 attendees each. It opened in 2005 with one building. It expanded in 2007 with a second building and grew again in 2008 with a third.

Looks like some Texas houses wont be getting fixed up anymore. The hit HGTV show “Fixer Upper” just announced it is ending after this season. The hosts, Chip and Joanna Gaines, made the announcement on their website. It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with.

A woman has been arrested after a witness in a murder trial was struck by a car outside the courthouse. Shaquilla Stafford, 44, was arrested in connection with the incident. The witness, Queva Stafford, was injured. Queva Stafford is the sister of the man who was killed. Las Vegas police suspect she was struck intentionally while she walked on the sidewalk. Shaquilla Stafford also faces weapon charges. She posted bond and is no longer in custody.
