A man was shot in the head Tuesday night in what police believe was a botched drug deal. The incident took place on the 4800 block of Nellis Oasis Lane near Lamont Street. The wounded man was taken to a local hospital where he was receiving treatment. He was listed in stable condition. The suspect has not been located.

Wynn Resorts has announced it reached an agreement to buy the empty lot on Las Vegas Boulevard where the New Frontier once stood. Wynn will pay $336 million for the 34 acres of the former New Frontier as well as 4 additional acres connected to the site. The company hopes the development will bring more tourists to the north end of the Strip. Once the deal is complete, Wynn will own 280 acres of contiguous property running from the Las Vegas Convention Center on Paradise Road west to Industrial Road Wynn plans to start construction of Paradise Park, which includes a 47-story, 1,500-room hotel, on the site of the Wynn Golf Course in January.

Pot cafes, stoned yoga and painting while puffing could be just around the corner in Las Vegas. Las Vegas officials are considering an ordinance that would allow the city to license marijuana consumption lounges. The ordinance would allow for a variety of consumption-friendly businesses, such as restaurants, yoga studios, coffee shops and even a smoking while painting class. The lounges would not be allowed to have or serve any alcohol or to store marijuana on-site. Assistant City Attorney Bryan Scott said lounges could be approved in March.

Las Vegas’ new soccer team introduced its head coach Tuesday. José Luis Sánchez Solá, better known as “Chelís”, will put together the Las Vegas Lights FC for 2018. Owner Brett Lashbook said Chelís fit with the attacking style of play he wants the team to be. Chelís previously coached Puebla in Liga MX and was the coach of Major League Soccer team Chivas USA. Chelís is currently an analyst with the ESPN Deporters’ daily soccer show Futbol Picante.
