The 50th anniversary running of the Mint 400 was Saturday . It rained over the course near Primm holding down the dust … … for a little while, at least. When the dust lifted, Bryce Menzies raced to the victory. It was his second Mint 400 overall win. The Las Vegas driver won by 28 seconds — one of the closet finishes in Mint history. Menzies covered three loops of the 118-mile course in 5 hours, 52 minutes.

A man was shot in the head Tuesday night in what police believe was a botched drug deal. The incident took place on the 4800 block of Nellis Oasis Lane near Lamont Street.
