Current and former city of Henderson officials face sexual harassment allegations

A sexual harassment investigation forced out Patrick Moers as Henderson’s police chief last year, sources told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The city said his ouster had to do with mailers regarding the police foundation, and classified Moers’ departure as “voluntary.” But sexual harassment allegations against the Police Department aren’t limited to the investigation of Moers. Although no names were given, several police officers have said that sexual harassment is rampant throughout the department. Sources also told the Review-Journal that Assistant City Manager Greg Blackburn is the subject of a sexual harassment investigation in Henderson. Victimized Henderson employees won’t speak up for fear of losing their jobs, multiple sources told the Review-Journal. March told the Review-Journal in December that Henderson’s “culture of fear” is unacceptable. said Mayor Debra March. None of the four council members returned phone calls seeking comments.
