Cadillac milestone reached

Findlay Cadillac recently reached a milestone, and Mesquite residents Priscilla and Roger Steelman said they were happy to be a part of the accomplishment.

The Steelmans purchased a 2015 SRX Premium Crossover, marking the 10,000th new Cadillac to be recorded in dealership inventory since the General Motors line joined Findlay Automotive Group in 2003.

Retirees from Redlands, Calif., the Steelmans said they liked their new vehicle and are proud to be a part of the landmark.

“We absolutely love our beautiful new SRX,” said Priscilla Steelman, a retired school principal whose husband is a retired banker. “The color couldn’t be more beautiful.”

Interest in the Majestic Plum colored SRX started when the couple found the vehicle on www.findlaycadillac.com.

Roger Steelman called dealership’s sales agent Mike Waldman, who had already sold the couple a 2010 SRX.

In a sense, seeing the SRX Crossover on the Internet was actually love at first sight, he said.

“Roger called and wanted to make sure we had the car in stock,” said Waldman, who moved to Las Vegas from Chicago in 1989. “They were so impressed with the Crossover that they wanted to make sure the car wasn’t sold before they got to actually see it at the dealership.”

Four days after calling Waldman, the couple journeyed more than 80 miles from Mesquite to trade in their Caribbean Blue 2010 SRX for the new SRX.

Waldman said the amenity package that comes with the 2015 SRX Crossover is quite impressive.

“Since this one is a Premium, that means it is top-of-the-line,” Waldman said. “It has 20-inch rims and tires, heated and cooled front seats and heated back seats; running lights; and a 3.6-liter direct injection 308-horsepower V-6 that produces 17 miles to the gallon in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.

“In addition, the car comes with front-wheel drive along with front and rear parking sensors, a backup camera, Blue Tooth and navigation. Add in the Bose sound system that is like the Hollywood Bowl, and this car has everything.”

Waldman also said all Cadillacs come with four-year or 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty plus four years, 50,000 miles of free maintenance cover, oil changes and tire rotation.

In addition, the warranty includes 24-7 roadside assistance while also coming with On Star and XM Satellite Radio.

The Steelmans praised Waldman’s efforts in helping them find their dream car, which also includes a Wi-Fi hot spot for Internet usage.

“Mike is great and he is so much fun to work with,” said Priscilla Steelman. “There is no pressure whatsoever when we deal with him and he always has everything ready for us. When we first called him, he called back in a only a few minutes. We have great trust in Mike. We really appreciate his attention and care. He even called us after we got home to make sure the car drove well.”

Dealership General Manager John Saksa said the milestone is something everyone is proud of at the dealership.

“We’re very pleased with the milestone and welcoming our next 10,000 new vehicles,” Saksa said.

Findlay Cadillac is at 993 Auto Show Drive in the Valley Automall in Henderson.

The dealership is part of the Findlay Automotive Group chain founded more than 50 years ago by the late Pete Findlay, whose son Cliff now spearheads operations in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and Idaho.
