It was the biggest star, playing the most nights at the fairest price last year. No wonder the King of Country was Las Vegas' favorite concert attraction after his four-night stand at the Thomas & Mack Center last August. Tickets flew fast at $18, which included a headline-quality opening act in Trisha Yearwood. Divas Celine Dion and Janet Jackson soared to a second-place tie.
Our Pick: GARTH BROOKS
We'd be crazy to argue with such a populist. Garth brings different generations to the arena in ways concert acts seldom do these days. And it would be great if other acts adopted his pricing strategy -- making a minimal profit on the concerts to maintain fan loyalty and excitement. But even Garth could go higher than $18. Instead of making room for casual fans, the rock-bottom tickets just allowed the die-hards to get back in line for a second or third show.
