Construction under way on 220,00-square foot retail center

Ground breaking has taken place at Sahara Center at the northeast corner of Sahara and Hualapai, with a scheduled opening of early fall 2014.

Construction on the 220,000-square foot retail center is under way at the 18-acre site at 10000 W. Sahara Ave.

The project developer is Sahara Center LLC, a member of the EHB Cos. In recent years, EHB Cos. has brought Tivoli Village and One Queensridge Place to Las Vegas.

Sahara Center will be anchored by T.J. Maxx, Stein Mart, Sprouts Farmers Market, HomeGoods and Petco plus other national and regional brands. The center will also offer pads fronting Sahara Avenue and Hualapai for neighborhood conveniences including food and beverage.

In a statement, officials said the center is currently is 60 percent leased and expected to open near or at full capacity.
