In response to the disaster caused by Typhoon Haiyan, Cox Communications is offering its customers free calls to the Philippines and free access to the Filipino Channel, channel 270, through Nov. 30.
Free calls are available to residential long distance customers on calls placed through Cox Digital Telephones.
The program will be applied retroactively to Nov. 8.
No action is needed on the customers’ part to receive the discount. It will be automatically applied to bills.
The Filipino Channel offers on-the-ground coverage of the typhoon and its aftermath.
Some 140,000 Filipino-Americans live in Las Vegas.
