Beach Trash: It's Criminal

It's prime time of year for beach trash -- those entertaining quick reads that seem to be perfect for lying around the pool or lolling on the sand. When “Criminal Minds: Killer Profile” crossed my desk, I suspected it would fill the bill, and sure enough...
“Criminal Minds: Killer Profile” is a sort of hybrid I hadn't seen before — an original novel based on a television series, in this case “Criminal Minds,” whose cast includes Las Vegas' own Matthew Gray Gubler.
The show is fairly gory escapism, and fittingly enough, so is the novel. And since the characters are identical to those on the show, regular viewers will have no problem picturing the faces and hearing the voices of Gubler and his castmates as the tale unfolds. Think of it as sort of an audio book that you read -- or a very detailed set of subtitles.
