Surprise! Las Vegas odds favor trained dancers to win ‘Dancing with the Stars’

“Dancing with the Stars” (8 p.m. Monday, KTNV-TV, Channel 13) is back for it’s 18th incarnation, and this time it may have stretched the term “star” past its breaking point.

It’s somewhat surprising the announcement of this year’s cast didn’t crash Google as fans scrambled to find out who most of these contestants were.

But that hasn’t stopped Johnny Avello, director of race and sports operations at Wynn Las Vegas, from picking his favorite: Olympic ice dancing gold medalist Meryl Davis. Her ice dancing partner, Charlie White, is Avello’s second pick.

Candace Cameron Bure, who isn’t famous for dancing on any surface, is projected to finish third.

Here are Avello’s odds, for entertainment purposes only, for this season’s cast of “Dancing with the Stars”:

Meryl Davis: 4-1

Charlie White: 5-1

Candace Cameron Bure: 6-1

Amy Purdy: 7-1

Danica McKellar: 8-1

James Maslow: 11-1

Cody Simpson: 14-1

NeNe Leakes 18-1

Drew Carey: 20-1

Sean Avery: 22-1

Billy Dee Williams: 30-1

Diana Nyad: 35-1
