Mayor Oscar Goodman’s plan to bring a Mob Museum to downtown Las Vegas was recently mugged in Congress when its $50 million price tag was deemed an inappropriate use of stimulus funds.
Since then, a recent column on the subject has been generating reams of response from readers. Here’s one from Jeff Kennedy:
"Government is into way TOO MANY things. At the top of the list is pro sports stadiums and sweetheart tax deals for private business that compete with other private business. The mob museum isn't far behind, only one person is sitting around thinking tax money needs to be wasted in this manner."
