Congratulations, Las Vegas Sun and Alexandra Berzon

I always wanted to work for a newspaper that delivered a Pulitzer Prize-winning story to its readers, but I never imagined it would happen this way.

The Las Vegas Sun won the Pulitzer for public service for a series of stories reporter Alexandra Berzon wrote about the deaths of construction workers on the Strip, especially at the CityCenter project. The Sun, of course, is inserted daily into the Review-Journal.

Berzon’s stories were great reads, and their contents moved local and state safety officials to awaken from their slumber and begin paying more attention to what was happening on the job sites.

Great news towns deserve great reporting, and Berzon delivered. The Sun staff should be deservedly proud.
