Local recruiting: Another reason Sanford should go

UNLV’s loss to Utah was expected, but I’ll let others sift through the ashes of another defeat.

There are a lot of reasons to show Mike Sanford the door, but the one that bothers me the most is the fact so many local athletes are recruited by UNR, Utah, and other universities that usually beat UNLV to a bloody pulp.

It’s a story that should be on Page One of UNLV’s Sanford exit strategy. For some reason, not many local sports writers focus on it.

Lya Wodraska of the Salt Lake City Tribune spotted the story.

Wodraska writes, “The Utah Utes love to visit Las Vegas, not so much for their conference road game but for recruits.”
