RADIO DAYS: Introducing my KNPR interviews

It turns out the high standards of Nevada Public Radio’s KNPR aren’t so high, after all. That’s the only way I can explain how I got lucky and came to be an occasional contributor to Dave Berns’ popular “State of Nevada” program.

Berns’ informative, entertaining morning show covers a broad range of subjects. He’s a real pro. I liken my role to that of the middle-inning relief pitcher.

My first interview was with singer-songwriter Paul Anka. It aired Dec. 19.

My second was with Howard Cannon biographer Michael Vernetti. It aired Jan. 5.

An upcoming interview with retired FBI undercover agent Bob Hamer will give listeners insight into the career of arguably the Bureau’s most prolific undercover street agent. He’s the Author of “The Last Undercover: The True Story of an FBI Agent’s Dangerous Dance With Evil.” It’s a remarkable story told well.

Recordings of the interviews also are available on KNPR's Web site.
