Rumors redux for iPhone

They're ba-aaack. Rumors are swirling again about the Apple iPhone coming to the Verizon Wireless network in January.

We've heard it before. Often. It seems as if every time a new iPhone is released the chants for the end-of-AT&T-exclusivity start again.

This time, though, it's for real, the rumors suggest. Really? Hmmm ... Is it live? Or is it Memorex?

I won't believe that the iPhone is ending its AT&T exclusivity until I hear it from my Verizon public relations friends. Nothing speaks the truth quite like the official line from the company.

In the meantime, here are links to some of the stories that have the I-want-an-iPhone-on-Verizon crowd aflutter:

I'll buy lunch for the first person to call me from an iPhone running on the Verizon network.
