Six local high schools among nation’s best

Six high schools in the Clark County School District are among the top 6 percent or 1,500 high schools in the country, according to Newsweek.
The ranking is based on the number of students taking advanced placement and International baccalaureate tests divided by the number of graduates.
The local schools are the Advanced Technologies Center at 519, Clark High School at 658, Green Valley High School at 848, Coronado High School at 1,248, the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts at 1,327, and Valley High School at 926.
