Benghazi rescue denied three times
October 26, 2012 - 9:11 am
If this report is true, then kiss Obama goodbye. He will have not only failed to adequately protect the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on of all days the anniversary of 9/11, he will also have refused to send in CIA backup to rescue or ambassador and three others, despite three separate requests.
We should all reserve final judgment for now -- our commander in chief deserves at least that benefit of the doubt -- but if this report is in any way true, this will be the final legacy of President Barack Obama's Administration.
PS -- Also remember that the attempt by news organizations friendly with the Obama Administration to report that in the fog of war there was a disconnect between Benghazi and the White House is false. We know from drone surveillance and State Department e-mail that the White House was following the Benghazi fight in real time. The White House therefore would have known about the requests to rescue our people in Benghazi.
PPS -- I will say again what I said yesterday. The president should stop stonewalling on this and hold a press conference with real reporters and answer every question the American people have to the best of his ability. Why he has not done this is a clear indication that he has something very damaging to hide.
