Happy Thanksgiving, y’all

As I have mentioned a few times (especially around the holidays), one of The Complete Las Vegan's favorite magazines is "Garden & Gun," an ardent chronicle of life and times of Southern living.
I'm going to take a day or two off from observations on politics and Las Vegas culture to gather the fam for a T-Day meal, watch a little football and, lest we forget, remember how lucky we are as a people. Even when I disagree with leaders (as I do now often with the president and Nevada's senior senator) I find plenty of common ground to stand with them to proclaim America's great heritage and still limitless potential.
Anyway, I thought I'd leave you with four ideas for side dishes for Thanksgiving, courtesy of "Garden & Gun."
One of the four is "Smothered Country Green Beans," which we have adopted for our table this year. The recipe begins: "When the first ingredient in a recipe is half a cup of bacon fat, you know you're in the South."
You can find the detail here.
And with that, I bid you all a Happy Thanksgiving.
