Thanks, Nevada poll workers

I voted early on Friday (the last day it is allowed) and I was once again reminded how friendly and well-trained our workers are.

In my 40 some years voting in Nevada, I’ve never had a bad experience at the polling place, either early or on Election Day. As a result, I guess, I tend to take a good voting experience for granted. I shouldn’t.

So let me send a shout-out to the poll workers at the Boulevard Mall. On Friday, some were dressed in Halloween costumes (one was in a Minnesota Vikings jersey, which is always scary) but all were very knowledgeable and competent. Although there was a line to vote, it took me only 5 minutes to get to the booth.

As an added bonus, I knew one of the poll workers. As I passed her station, she gave me a big hug and a kiss. It’s always nice to be greeted like that.

Anyway, I’m sorry for taking voting for granted. But when it’s perfect every time, it’s hard not to.

PS: If you didn’t vote early, vote on Tuesday. There’s no excuse.

PPS: If you voted a straight ticket this election, shame on you, IMHO. Good, clear choices on both sides of the ticket.

PPPS: Had to leave some judge races blank. Didn’t know anything about either one.

PPPPS: Why the hell do we still vote for judges? There must be a better way.
