RAMS EXTEND LEAD

Las Vegan Rashaun Greer continues to make UNLV pay for allowing him to get away.

The Mojave High School product caught a 46-yard touchdown late in the third quarter to give Colorado State a 27-14 lead entering the final period.

It was his third catch of more than 40 yards in the game, but the first to go for a touchdown.

He has seven catches for 203 yards and a score.

The Rams also got a field goal midway through the third quarter.

UNLV is showing some signs of life, however, as the Rebels will have a first-and-goal when the final period begins.

NAME GAME

Everyone knows that UNLV's Frank Summers is nicknamed "Tank."

It's a great moniker.

Not only does it rhyme with his first name, but it fits his bruising running style.

But it is not his real name.

The announcing crew for the game continues to refer to the running back as "Tank Summers."

This is not a superhero movie. It is a football game. His name is Frank.

HOW MAY REPLAYS DO WE NEED?

While themtn. was showing the replay of a great run by Summers for the third time, Colorado State came up with an interception of Omar Clayton.

Viewers never saw it live, however.

Replays are great, but a major college football telecast can't allow itself to miss live action while endlessly going over the previous play.

To make matters worse, a roar from the crowd could be heard over the replay, so it was obvious something was happening on the field.

IOWA STATE UPDATE

Two weeks ago, UNLV fans saw Iowa State mount a furious comeback before losing to the Rebels in overtime.

Today, it was the Cyclones that blew an early lead.

Iowa State led 20-0 at the half, but dropped a 35-33 decision to Kansas today in Ames, Iowa.
