Rebels land El Toro High offensive lineman Brian Roth

Brian Roth, an offensive lineman from El Toro High School in Lake Forest, Calif., committed today to play football at UNLV.

Roth (6 feet 5 inches, 290 pounds) is a two-star prospect. He also had a scholarship offer from San Jose State, which he visited over the weekend.

He said he became interested in the Rebels after participating in previous coach Mike Sanford's Big Man Camp last June, and having a former El Toro teammate in lineman Matt Murphy will ease the transition.

"One of the deciding factors for me was I got the feeling I'd be more comfortable there," Roth said.

He also said he believes new coach Bobby Hauck will turn around the program.

"I think they definitely have the potential to get to a bowl game," Roth said.
