Free Beer For Redheads And Other St. Patty Day Specials

Attention redheaded women: You drink free green beer noon to midnight during St. Patty’s Day parties on Tuesday at the Irish-themed O’Sheas hotel on the Strip, which will also set up beer pong tables, and serve green beer for $3 for 12 ouncers; $4 for 16 ouncers and $15 for 60 ouncers.

That’s just one of scads of St. Paddy’s Day specials around the city. A few more that stick out:

✮ Hey cabbies, McCormick & Schmick's, 335 Howard Hughes Center, is giving city taxi drivers free buffet breakfasts of green eggs and ham, and Lucky Charms, but only 8-9 a.m. The first 20 non-cabbie diners who show up in green clothes get a free breakfast.

✮ Win a free trip to Ireland at Green Valley Ranch. Every drink bought at Quinn’s Irish Pub, Ovation, Drop Bar and the Sports Book earns a raffle ticket. The raffle goes down at 10 p.m. tonight. Quinn’s has $2 draught beers 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (kinda early, don’tcha think?) Darby O’Gill & The Little People perform after 10 p.m. Register for $25 at 5 p.m. to be one of 64 two-player teams in a beer pong tourney at Ovation; first place gets $1,000; second place, a Nintendo Wii; third place nets four tickets to see 3 Doors Down.

✮ At New York-New York’s Nine Fine Irishman, U2 tribute band Rattle and Hum plays 9:15 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Brooklyn Bridge. Celtic Rockers play 5-9 p.m. Mike Bowman plays noon-4 p.m. Tickets cost $20.

✮ Starting at 8 a.m., there’s a corned-beef eating contest at Hash House A Go Go, cosponsored by country radio station KWNR. Peter O’Donnell of the Scintas is a judge. First place: 52 gift certificates values at $15 each. Hash House A Go Go, 6800 W. Sahara Ave., is also serving Lucky Charms pancakes, plus two drinks priced right at 95 cents each — a 20-ounce domestic green draught, and a bloody Mary. By the way, Hash House A Go Go will be on the hidden-camera segment, “What Would You Do?” on ABC’s “Primetime” at 10 p.m. tonight. In the segment, a fake family in 19th century clothes gets attention via a loud, supposed 15-year-old wife, who was forced to wed, and customers react.

✮ Hawaiian Tropic Zone at Planet Hollywood will conduct its second round competition to crown an MMA ring girl tonight at 11 p.m. It’s $5 for Guinness draughts, Irish “Car Bombs” and Jameson Irish whiskey, plus $3 Lucky Leprechaun shots.

✮ Jerry’s Nugget is paying 2-to-1 on “any dealt blackjack comprised of two club card,” and offering bonuses on all-club royal and straight flushes.

✮ Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville offers $3.17 green margaritas to people dressed in green, I believe starting at 3:17 p.m. If you can I.D.-prove it’s your birthday, you get a $31.70 “gift letter.”

✮ And at Mandalay Bay’s lounge, Rattle and Hum plays 3:30 p.m.; Wild Celts at 5:30 p.m.; The Limit at 8 p.m. Prices run $4 for a 16-ounce Guinness; and $5 Irish margaritas.
