AROUND TOWN: Cheesecake deals offered around the valley today

Who says July 4 is the only big holiday this month? July 26 we celebrate National Cowboy Day. July 27 was Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day, July 28 Singing Telegram Day, and today, July 30, is the greatest holiday of all — Cheesecake Day.

Celebrate the big day at Cheesecake and Crime or the Cheesecake Factory ... or if you're me, hit them both.

At the Cheesecake and Crime bookstore, 10545 S. Eastern Ave., No. 100, they served up free cheesecake and coffee during a live weather remote from 5 to 7 a.m. For the rest of the day, while supplies last, they'll hand out cheesecake to customers throughout the day. Visit www.cheesecakeandcrime.com for details.

The Cheesecake Factory restaurants are using the occasion to launch the company's 30th anniversary celebration. On Cheesecake Day, restaurants will offer cheesecake slices for $1.50, limit one per guest, dine in only. The price is the same the first Cheesecake Factory charged when it opened in 1978. A special 30th Anniversary chocolate cake cheesecake will be introduced on Cheesecake Day, and 25 cents from each slice sold this year will benefit America’s Second Harvest. Visit www.cheesecakefactory.com for more updates on additional 30th anniversary festivities yet to come. Locally, you can find the factories inside The Forum Shops at Caesars, at The District at Green Valley Ranch, 160 S. Green Valley Parkway, and at 750 S Rampart Blvd No. 17 in the Boca Park center in the Summerlin Area.
