PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to View’s pets section. Because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

Mercedez Cortez of Las Vegas shared this photo of her best friend, Boots. “He weighs in at a mere 20 pounds. He follows me around everywhere in the house, just like a dog follows his master. He loves to sit and look at my tadpoles. When it’s time for me to come home from school, Boots will go sit in front of the door, peering out the screen, waiting for my return.”

“Gracie is a 6-year-old beagle with endless energy,” wrote Heather Caldera of Henderson. “Her gentle nature and curiosity make her very photogenic, as can be seen in the photo.”

Tatyana Rudik of Spring Valley shared this photo of her cat, Kok. “He is a very smart cat. He always calls me ‘Mama.’ ”

“Our dogs Molly and Patch (Irish wolfhound and great Dane) are wondering where all the snow is,” wrote Dick and Julie Walkow. “They came from Erie, Pa., where they had many opportunities to play in the snow. Now they must get used to the warm weather here in Vegas.”

Diane Johnson of Las Vegas shared this photo of her best friend, Pootsie. “She is a mixed breed and was found running loose on the street. She was so small, she fit in the palm of my hand. Now, she weighs more than 20 pounds. She is the bestest friend-dog that I have ever owned. She is very smart and has learned many tricks. She is a very protective dog.”
