2 charged with attempted murder in shooting near Henderson restaurant

Two 19-year-old males were taken into custody Tuesday night and charged with attempted murder in connection to the double shooting outside a Henderson restaurant Monday night.

Marc Anthony Sanchez was arrested during a traffic stop and Rhanel Immanual-David Ray was arrested outside a Henderson apartment, Henderson police said.

Both men are charged with two counts of attempted murder, police said.

The shooting happened about 7:35 p.m. in the east parking lot of Black Mountain Grill at 11021 S. Eastern Ave., near Sunridge Heights Parkway, said Michelle French, Henderson police spokeswoman.

Before the shooting, a group of four people walked out of the Wendy’s at 11011 S. Eastern Ave. and into the parking lot east of Black Mountain Grill, French said. The group was confronted by Sanchez and Ray.

An exchange of words took place, and Sanchez and Ray fired several shots at the four, police said. Two people were struck by gunfire.

One person was hit in the thigh and has injuries that are considered to be nonlife-threatening and the other person suffered critical injuries when struck in the abdomen and extremities. Both were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and are expected to recover, police said.

Police believe the shooting may have been over a $200 debt.
