McCarthy summering in Vegas

I've been wondering why Jenny McCarthy keeps showing up at Vegas hot spots, such as the Palms pool and club Vanity.

It turns out she moved to Vegas for the next month, she told me Thursday.

"My house is under construction," she said. "I needed a place to live. So I said, 'Why not rent a house in Vegas,' because I love it?"

Newly single McCarthy is living in a great house near the airport, and going to yoga studios, "trying to find a healthy side of Vegas."

"It's a small town inside of Vegas. Everybody knows each other. It's kind of wild," she said. "Everyone's really friendly."

What are her favorite spots?

"My favorite restaurant, pretty much in the country, is N9NE Steakhouse," she said.

"I still love going to the Playboy Club, which reminds me of my past.

"And I love riding the needle on the Stratosphere. I go on that Big Shot a lot!" she said of the ride atop the Stratosphere. "That's kind of my way of getting high when I'm like, 'I need a rush!' "

She hasn't tried the new SkyJump, the 800-foot free fall off the top of the Stratosphere.

"No, but I've been watching the guys go. And I've been watching them turn around and take their straps off and not jump. That's actually my favorite part, when they start to crap themselves."

If you want to hang with McCarthy, she's hosting A Midsummer Night's Dream at Palms pool on Aug. 14.
