Cameron Diaz stars in 'Sister's Keeper'

Movie: "My Sister's Keeper"

When: Opening Friday at local theaters

Cast: Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, Jason Patric, Joan Cusack

Director: Nick Cassavetes

The story: After years of keeping her leukemia-patient sister alive, an 11-year-old decides to seek medical emancipation -- and leave her critically ill sister's future to fate.

The buzz: The filmmaking team that brought you the 2004 hit "The Notebook," writer-director Nick Cassavetes and co-writer Jeremy Leven, reunites for an adaptation of Jodi Picoult's best-seller. And though several of Picoult's books have been transformed into made-for-TV movies, this is the first big-screen feature based on her work.
