March Madness, St. Patrick's Day collide at casinos

March Madness is upon us, and several casinos are running related promotions this week. At Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Resort, college hoop fans can purchase $25 entries into the "Last Man Standing" winner-take-all contest. Whoever picks the winning team will split 100 percent of the entry fees ($25,000 minimum). Players purchasing three entries receive a fourth one for free.

Through March 23, all PT's Pubs are running the "$20,000 March to the Championship Giveaway" including a chance to win a trip to the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio. Players receive one entry for every four-of-a-kind.

Beginning Monday at the Orleans, all slot, video poker, table and sports book players can earn entries into the "$15,000 March Hoopla Drawing" at 4 p.m. March 23, where 10 winners (who must be present) will receive $1,500.

Arizona Charlie's Boulder and Arizona Charlie's Decatur are holding a "$50,000 March Cash Mania" virtual drawing on March 28 when both properties will give away 16 cash prizes ranging from $250 to $10,000. A.C.E. Reward members receive one entry for every 50 base points earned in a gaming day, but they first must swipe their cards (only once during the promotion) at any kiosk. The drawings will take place at 8:15 p.m. A.C.E cards also must be swiped on March 28 to activate the entries, and players must be present at the drawings to win.

As you might have guessed, there are a lot of "green-related" bingo giveaways over the next few days. Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho are giving out St. Patrick's Day daubers on Sunday. The Suncoast, Gold Coast and Terrible's are giving out green daubers on Monday. Sam's Town is waiting until March 18 to pass out its gift: a butter warmer with a tea light. All gifts require a minimum buy-in ($3-$4 at most casinos) and are only available while supplies last.

On Wednesday and March 26, the Suncoast and the Gold Coast are holding special drawings at their 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. bingo sessions. At each session, five winners will receive $100-$500 in cash. All bingo players receive an automatic entry with their buy-in.
