Here’s a look at this week’s new movies, “Dumb and Dumber To,” “Beyond the Lights,” “Whiplash,” “Rosewater,” “Saving Christmas” and “Beyond the Farm”:

BEYOND THE LIGHTS: A music superstar (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) falls for a cop (Nate Parker) who’s part of her security detail. At multiple locations. (116 min.) PG-13; sexual content including suggestive gestures, partial nudity, language and thematic elements.

DUMB AND DUMBER TO: Lloyd (Jim Carrey) and Harry (Jeff Daniels) return after 20 years to search for the daughter Harry never knew he had in this comedy sequel. At multiple locations. (110 min.) PG-13; crude and sexual humor, partial nudity, language and some drug references.

OCCUPY THE FARM: When a former agricultural research center is targeted for a shopping mall, hundreds of farmers plant an acre of vegetables on the land as a protest in this documentary. At Village Square. (107 min.) Not rated.

ROSEWATER: Journalist Maziar Bahari (Gael Garcia Bernal) is arrested in Iran and interrogated/tortured for 118 days in Jon Stewart’s directorial debut. At multiple locations. (103 min.) R; language including some crude references, and violent content.

SAVING CHRISTMAS: A man (Kirk Cameron) shows his brother-in-law the true, Christ-centric meaning of Christmas in this faith-based comedy. At Sam’s Town, Village Square. (80 min.) PG; some thematic elements.

WHIPLASH: A young jazz drummer (Miles Teller) is driven to the brink of madness by his mentor (J.K. Simmons). At multiple locations. (106 min.) R; strong language including some sexual references.
