On Budget: Free concerts

The Skabbs

L.A. punks The Skabbs were born in the mid-’70s but disbanded after their singer died early in the band’s career. Thirty years later, they reunited, and will be making up for lost time at 10 p.m. today at the Double Down Saloon, 4640 Paradise Road. The show is free; call 791-5775.

The Solid Suns

Join Vegas alt-rockers The Solid Suns as they celebrate the release of their new album at 8:30 p.m. today at Count’s Vamp’d, 6750 W. Sahara Ave. The event is free; call 220-8849.

Trash Monsters

Orange Country ragers the Trash Monsters team up with Vegas rockers At It Again and Social Distortion cover band The Knockouts at 9 p.m. Saturday at The Dive, 4110 S. Maryland Parkway. The show is free; call 796-1776.

Liquid Den

Jungle/drum ’n’ bass night Liquid Den returns with R.A.W., Impostor, Zaiaku and Pappageorge at 10 p.m. Thursday at the Beauty Bar, 517 Fremont St. The show is free; call 598-1965.

Empire Records

“Empire Records” was a crappy coming-of-age movie from the mid-’90s, but the alt-rock tribute act of the same name represents that era in much more convincing fashion at 9 p.m. Saturday at Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel, 4455 Paradise Road. The show is free; call 693-5000.
