Stations, Fiestas awarding up to $10,000; Palms offering electronics

There will be 100 drawing winners at Station and Fiesta casinos every Friday and Saturday night through Sept. 12. At 7:15 p.m., 10 names will be drawn at Palace Station, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock Resort, Aliante Station, Fiesta Rancho and Fiesta Henderson for a chance to win $250-$10,000 in cash. Winners earning 1,000 same-day slot points ($1,000 coin-in) or 2,000 same-day video poker points ($2,000-$8,000 coin-in) before the drawing will receive double their cash prize, and those earning 2,000 same-day slot points or 4,000 same-day video poker points will receive triple their cash prize. Plus, anyone playing with their card that evening will receive at least $10-$20 in free play.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in September, the Palms will run an Electronics Extravaganza Play, Earn and Win promotion, giving away a $335,000 in featured gift items from clocks to Nintendo DSi systems. Each promotional day, players can earn points based on a midnight-to-midnight earning period and can redeem them for gifts based on that day's point total. And what about Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays? On those days (through Sept. 10), all Club Palms members will receive a special scratch card when they swipe their club card (and/or scratch card mailer) from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Prizes may include free slot play, point offers, food vouchers and other Palms prizes. Some video poker machines may be excluded from these promotions.

Tonight, the Hard Rock Hotel will award five random winners (one every hour from 6 p.m.-11 p.m.) $25-$100 in free play. The casino also is giving away five pairs of Santana tickets as well as 20 Santana CDs on both Sunday and Monday. Players receive one entry for every 100 points ($100-$200 coin-in) earned on those days. The drawings are at 7 p.m., and winners must be present.

Rampart players earning 200 points ($400 coin-in on slots, $1,600 coin-in on video poker; no point redemption required) on Saturday (10 a.m.-10 p.m.) will receive one free Handy Chopper hat.

A 10-week semester of free video poker classes taught by Bob Dancer will begin at the Eastside Cannery at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Marilyn's Lounge. Each week, a different game will be taught, and everyone at least 21 years of age is welcome.
