Ready to plan your strategy for visiting holiday and craft bazaars? The Las Vegas Review-Journal presents its annual list of craft bazaars, festivals and events for those interested in starting their holiday shopping.

This year, Green Valley Presbyterian Church will have its 16th annual Gingerbread Fairy and Pantry from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The church is at 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson.

Estelle Brennan, crafting coordinator of the event, says the church's biggest fundraiser features only homemade crafts and baked goods.

"We try and give quality items for as low a price as we can," Brennan says.

The church's Gingerbread Committee women's group consists of 38 members with husbands, sons and volunteers helping to set up on the big day.

"People start lining up before the doors open," Brennan notes. "They bring books and sit on the ground waiting for the doors to open."

After the holidays, the committee determines which charities will receive the proceeds. In the past, proceeds have gone to nonprofit organizations for veterans, homeless teens and food banks.

Items at this year's bazaar will include fall and holiday decorations, jewelry, angels, kitchen items, embroidered linens, pies, cookies, cakes, gingerbread, jellies, fudge, muffins and other items.
