Fire crews put out fire in vacant downtown Las Vegas building

Updated February 17, 2018 - 3:20 pm

Las Vegas fire officials report that a fire in a vacant downtown apartment building has been extinguished.

Bridger Avenue remains closed from Sixth to Eighth street as fire crews check for hot spots, according to the Las Vegas Fire Department.

Around 12:30 p.m., fire crews responded to the flames as squatters were fleeing the two-story building at 600 Bridger Ave. By 12:40 p.m., the “bulk of fire” was reduced, according to Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski.

There were no reported injuries.
